The So-So Shepherd

Well we've completed our CIA movie trifecta, and for bonus points two of them starred Matt Damon. "The Good Shepherd" was the least of the three. It was often unclear what was going on and/or why it was going on. This due in part to the most annoying trend in movies and TV in recent years. In an apparent attempt to make it seem more realistic the actors mumble, and/or are drowned out by soundtrack or background noise. Watching this movie at home on DVD, we stopped and rewound over a dozen times to try to understand what was being said. This was often to no avail, despite repeated listens and discussion.

If you want a CIA fix, check out "Breach" if you want a true story, or "The Bourne Ultimatum" if you want fiction.

I rate "The Good Shepherd" at 2 Boos.
