The Polar Express to Nowhere

What was the point of "The Polar Express?" It certainly couldn't have been the plot. It must have been to show off the new claymation technology for the 21st century. Unlike all other Christmas shows, the characters did not make me want to love them, or root for them, or care about them. The suspenseful parts were not suspenseful, the scary parts were not scary, and the sappy parts were not sappy. Santa, meanwhile, could charitably be described as a little distant. Maybe the problem is the animation technology produced such frightening looking people that it's not possible to like them, much less love them.

Tom Hanks, what were you thinking getting involved in this project? You're so much better than this.

I rate "The Polar Express" at 1 Boo.
