Is That Really the Best They Had?
Winner of five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and nominated for five more, I had very high expectations for 1960's "The Apartment." Throughout the movie, I kept thinking, "This is the best movie of 1960?" It was perfectly enjoyable, but certainly not outstanding.
I rate "The Apartment" at 3 Boos.

This movie truly was a disappointment. I love old movies, but I found this one just strange. All these married men having affairs - was it really so commonplace back then? I just don't understand what the point was. Was this a comedy? No. A drama? Sort of. Just strange.
