The Hitchhiker's Guide to Mediocrity

Unlike so many of my geek friends, I have never loved the book. But I did like it enough, many years ago, to read a bunch of the sequels. However, when I reread the book last month it didn't grab me. Likewise, the movie left me with a not very satisfied feeling. It held my interest. The special effects where generally good. I especially liked the Volgons. I liked Marvin, the robot. But beyond that I would have been just as happy doing something else with my time and money.

Interestingly, as I sat next to Pete in the theatre, knowing he had not read the book, I wondered what he must have been thinking about it. I feared the worst, but in the end he liked it better than I did.

I rate "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" at 2 Boos.
