Try not to fall over...

Yes, I'm actually blogging! Try not to hit your head when you fall over...ANYWAY...Here's my thoughts on the last couple of movies the Boos have seen:

Charlie Wilson's War: I was SO glad to learn that Rep. Wilson didn't just go and start this war and then leave the Afaghanis to fend with the aftermath, but man, the ending was depressing. Will we EVER learn from our mistakes? Will we ever learn that butter is so much more cost-effective than guns???

The Visitor: I had no idea this movie would be so sad, so frustrating...I thought it was going to be about an old guy who learns to play the drums!!! Very, very well acted, not enough drumming, and unlike my dear friend Steve, I LIKE happy endings...this ending made me feel like Walter wimped out in the end...

The Savages: Again, very well acted. Both Laura Linney and P.S.H. did a great job (and seeing P.S.H in Charlie Wilson's War just days later really illustrates his range). I liked the idea that maybe you can pull your act together in middle age, but I never did get why Wendy was so concerned about her father after all those years of not seeing him...I don't think the move did a good job of explaining her guilt.
